2015 Auxiliary Support Awards 

  1. Arizona Law Alliance $300 Providing additional booklets with US founding documents for their Constitution Day in Arizona.
  2. Columbus Bar Association Alliance $300 Continuing support of Domestic Violence and Stalking Unit of the Columbus City Attorney’s Office help with purchase of bus passes for victims to travel to and from the courthouse. Cleaning products for victims’waiting room. Supplies for victims while waiting for court hearings (toiletries, books, art supplies, and diapers).
  3. Grand Rapids Lawyers Alliance $525 Library project at Kent Co. Detention Center Education Program. First time Project to add to the library. GRLA has had a presence for many years with the detention center.
  4. Houston Bar Association Auxiliary $200 Annual award given to honor a lawyer for a lifetime of volunteer services. “This award is to be given to a member in good standing of the Houston Bar Association who is civically minded, professionally capable, socially and culturally, family orientated, morally and spiritually aware and who has demonstrated these qualities over a significant number of years.
  5. Indian River County Lawyers Auxiliary $500 Instituting a new program to provide a pocket constitution to every 7th grade Civics student in Indian River for Constitution Day.
  6. Ingham County Bar Auxiliary $250 Continuing the primary focus on the Child Benefit Fund program to assist children that are involved in the court system.
  7. Kalamazoo Lawyers Alliance $300 First time event to donate books that are law related for the Juvenile Home Audrey Grey Library.
  8. Michigan Lawyers Alliance $400 First time project for needy students in Michigan communities that do not have lawyers’ auxiliaries. They will distribute Law Related Education type books to students, teachers and/or libraries.
  9. National Capital Lawyers Auxiliary $400 Continuing their 38 years of sponsoring the Law Day Essay Contest. The 5th and 6th grade students in the Washington D. C. Area public schools are the participants. This year’s theme was “What American Means to Me”.
  10. Saginaw County Lawyers Auxiliary $235 First time project for distributing books/LRE materials to seventh 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teachers in 40 schools in the county. Should reach about 6,000 students.
  11. San Antonio Bar Auxiliary $200 We help support the teens of our community in the CASA program. Each holiday we choose a teen from the Angel Tree and provide gift cards for them. We would like to expand this to help provide clothing and accessories for their Prom experience in the Spring.
  12. Wichita Bar Association Auxiliary $400 Street Outreach is an arm of the Wichita Children’s Home. One night a month they provide a hot, nourishing meal at a common gathering place for their older teenagers. Members donate to a food fund that can be used in emergencies.
