Purpose

The purpose is to recognize a member who has shown exemplary dedication over an extended period of time to the American Lawyers Alliance through:

 

  1. Accepting positions of leadership and accomplishing ALA objectives;
  2. Continuing support of the American Lawyers Alliance when active on the national level;
  3. Communicating the objectives of the American Lawyers Alliance and encouraging its programs on a local and/or national level; and
  4. Displaying an attitude which encourages an interchange of ideas and experiences without sacrificing her/his own convictions.

Nominations

An individual or individuals, may be nominated for the award by the general membership and/or the Board of Directors. The President will appoint a committee to review nomination(s) and issue recommendation(s) to the Board of Directors.

Awards

An appropriate memento will be given the honored member or members. This award may be presented at the Mid-Year Meeting.

Eligibility

Any longstanding member of the American Lawyers Alliance may be nominated.



Entry Rules

A maximum of a two-page endorsement letter for the nominee, providing details of activities and describing projects and/or activities which prompted the nomination. Include awards from the ALA and/or other legal and community organizations.
